Test Code DIC Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC) Screen

Additional Codes

EPIC LAB4076

Purpose

The Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation (DIC) screen is a battery of tests consisting of PTINR, APTT, Fibrinogen, D-Dimer, platelet count, and peripheral smear for schistocytes. This battery of tests provides comprehensive testing to determine if intravascular clotting or hemolytic processes are occuring in vivo in the patient.
