Purpose
For the detection of clinically significant bacterial enteric pathogens. Salmonella, Shigella/Enteroinvasive E.coli, Campylobacter, and Shiga toxin-producing genes are detected by Real-Time PCR (BD MAX). Other pathogens, such as Yersinia enterocolitica, Aeromonas sp., Plesiomonas shigelloides, Vibrio sp., are detected by routine culture.
