For the detection of bacteria responsible for bacteremia from a line tip. The presence of >15 CFU of a single organism is consistent with that organism as an etiological agent of bacteremia and perhaps septic thrombophlebitis.

Rejection Criteria
- Any specimen other than a line tip. Swabs of line tips will be rejected.
