Clinical Significance
Usually in the early stages, bowel cancer causes no pain and gives no warning signals other than occult asymptomatic bleeding. Colorectal cancer detected in the early stages offers an excellent prognosis. Blood may also appear in the stool following bleeding from anywhere in the gastrointestinal tract.
Methodology
Hemosure One Step Immunological Fecal Occult Blood test is a CLIA Waived, qualitative, sandwich dye conjugate immunoassay and employs a unique combination of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies so selectively identify hemoglobin in test samples with a high degree of sensitivity.

A specimen should not be collected from a patient with the following conditions that may interfere with the test results.
- Menstrual bleeding
- Constipation bleeding
- Bleeding hemorrhoids
- Urinary bleeding
